What we do

First, we alert. Then, we help regulate. From evidence and advocacy to enforcement in court — plus two specialist units that take our expertise to the financial market and to business.

Our activities

Six ways we turn evidence into change.

For a consumer organisation like ours it is always important to follow what is happening and take a position on the events that matter to people in the markets where we operate. Digital, sustainability, energy, cost of living, product safety, mobility, security — wherever something affects consumers, that is where Euroconsumers will be.

Qualified Entity

When dialogue fails, we go to court.

Under the EU Representative Actions Directive, our national members act as qualified entities: they can bring collective actions for injunctions and for redress — compensation, repair, replacement, price reduction or reimbursement — on behalf of consumers harmed by a trader.

How representative actions work

Enforcement in practice

Injunctions to stop unlawful practices, and redress claims for compensation, repair, replacement or reimbursement.

Cross-border coordination so one infringement is challenged in several markets at once.

Full in-house legal expertise, from first complaint letter to court.

Settlements that change company policy — not just individual refunds.

Specialist unit

Closing the gap between investors and what they invest in.

Euroconsumers Invest is our unit specialised in investment information and consultancy. It works with every stakeholder in the financial market to raise financial literacy across Europe, Latin America and beyond — bringing 60 years of consumerist rigour, independence and transparency to financial product analysis.
