Priority
The idea has to answer something already on our agenda: repair, energy, mobility, data, enforcement.
We develop projects to promote innovation and virtuous behavior in line with EU strategy. We contribute to the New Green Deal, the Circular economy action plan and Consumer agenda implementation.
Euroconsumers is constantly exploiting funding opportunities in line with its mission and priorities to diversify revenues, mainly through research, innovation and partnerships. Until now, we already impacted all of our Local Organizations.
The idea has to answer something already on our agenda: repair, energy, mobility, data, enforcement.
We join cities, universities, manufacturers and repairers, and bring the consumer side of the evidence.
Our national organisations test the solution with their members, in their own language and market.
Deliverables are published, and the findings go into our positions, our tests and the policy files they belong to.
Each project runs with a named consortium, a fixed budget and public deliverables. Filter by whether the work is still running, and follow a project through to its own page.
Growing a culture of repair across the Mediterranean
Builds on the practical knowledge our members gathered in SHAREPAIR, CircThread and PROMPT, and extends it to a wider consortium of partners and cities. The 2025 Repair Festival is part of it.
Co-funded by Interreg Euro-Med and the European Union
Euroconsumers members with a Euro-Med partner consortium
Home Renovation Integrated Services
Makes it easier for consumers to renovate their homes by bringing advice, works and financing into one service instead of a dozen separate decisions.
Consortium led by Deco Proteste (PT)
Past project
Linking product data across the circular economy
Designs a way to share information about each stage of a product's life, so repair, reuse and recycling decisions can be made on real data. Euroconsumers' members ran the consumer pilots and surveyed nearly 6,000 people on Digital Product Passports.
EU Horizon 2020, Grant Agreement No. 958448
31-partner consortium including OCU and Altroconsumo; use cases in Italy, Slovenia and Spain
Past project
Collective purchasing for clean energy products
Grouped consumers together to buy solar panels, heat pumps and other clean energy products on better terms, with independent advice on what to install and what it should cost.
EU funded
Euroconsumers organisations with European consumer groups
Past project
Digital Support Infrastructure for Citizens in the Repair Economy
Scaled up citizen repair with digital tools for repair cafés and community centres, and set a target of cutting electrical waste by 110 tonnes across four pilot cities. Test Achats/Test Aankoop helped consumers find solutions for broken products.
European Regional Development Fund, Interreg North-West Europe
European cities and repair partners with Test Achats/Test Aankoop
Past project
Tackling the premature obsolescence of goods
Built an independent testing programme to assess how long consumer electronics really last, and turned the results into recommendations for designers and policymakers on durability and reparability.
EU Horizon 2020
OCU and Test Achats/Test Aankoop
Past project
Boost Energy Label Take up
Eased the transition to the rescaled energy label: training and technical guidance for manufacturers, distributors and retailers, and targeted campaigns so consumers and procurement staff read the new label correctly.
EU Horizon 2020
Multidisciplinary consortium reaching 20 million stakeholders and 4,400 market actors
More Information Less Emissions
Gave drivers an online tool to compare the real-world fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions of cars across the market, and to track their own use — building large-scale monitoring data along the way.
EU Life+ programme
Test Achats/Test Aankoop (BE), Altroconsumo (IT) and OCU (ES)
Green Vehicle Index
Turned complicated test processes into information consumers can use: an independent rating of a vehicle's full environmental performance over its serviceable life, ending with a published list of the 49 most available low-emitting vehicles.
EU Horizon 2020, Grant Agreement No. 814794
Building a consortium or looking for a consumer partner? Talk to Luisa before the call closes.
Research and innovation projects that test, in practice, something we are asking policy makers to require: independent durability testing, repair infrastructure, product data, energy labels, cleaner mobility. Each one runs with a consortium of universities, cities, companies and consumer organisations, and each one produces deliverables anyone can read.
Both, depending on the call. Some grants are signed by Euroconsumers, others by one or more of our national organisations, Test Achats/Test Aankoop, Altroconsumo, OCU or Deco Proteste, with the group coordinating. The EU Grants Fundraising team sets that up before the deadline.
No. Project work is separate from advocacy and from comparative testing. A grant buys research capacity, not a conclusion, and no project result changes what we publish about a company or a market. Where a study is co-funded, the funding is stated in the release.
Yes, in a consortium: manufacturers, repairers and recyclers were part of CircThread, for example. What a company cannot buy is a Euroconsumers endorsement, our logo on its products, or influence over the consumer research inside the project.
Yes. Reports, surveys, tools and guidance produced in our projects are published free of charge and can be quoted with attribution. Where a project has its own site, that is where the full set of deliverables lives.
Write to Luisa Crisigiovanni with the call, the deadline and the role you have in mind for us. Come early: assembling a consortium, checking the fit with our priorities and clearing the budget takes weeks, not days.
Mainly EU programmes on research, innovation and consumer policy — Horizon Europe and its predecessor Horizon 2020, Life, Interreg and the Consumer Programme — plus national funds and private foundations where the objective matches our mission.
Consortium invitations, letters of support, budget questions and reporting all come through the EU Grants Fundraising team.
